About Koi | Vocal and Performance Intensive

This workshop is a practical session focussing on vocal technique for stage and screen. It will include approaches to warming up, breathing technique, vocal support, vocal health, and an investigation into the relationship between voice and text – with tools for preparation and performance.

About Cherie Moore

Cherie Moore is a freelance vocal coach, actor, singer, director, and writer. She is the Head of Voice at The Actors’ Program, the Voice Lecturer at UNITEC, and runs a private studio for performers. She regularly coaches on professional plays as well as shows with music. Cherie specialises in theatre and music theatre directing, as well as creating new works for theatre and multi-disciplinary platforms. She is certified in Vocal Health First Aid, and continues to develop her knowledge and skills of performance craft and voice through workshops with NZ and international practitioners. 
 
Performance credits include; Next To Normal (The Court Theatre), Wicked (SkyCity), The Trojan War (NZ Tour), Valerie (NZ and International tour), Sweet Tooth (Netflix). Recent vocal coaching credits includes; Romeo and Juliet (Auckland Theatre Company), A Mixtape For Maladies (Auckland Theatre Company), The Effect (Auckland Theatre Company), Twelfth Night (Pop Up Globe), Romeo and Juliet (Pop Up Globe), Moe Miti (Red Leap Theatre). Recent directing credits include; Spring Awakening (Herald Theatre), Radium Girls (UNITEC), Vanity Fair (Tapac Theatre), Boys (The Herald Theatre), School Of Rock (Glass Ceiling Collective), Legally Blonde (Diocesan), Beetlejuice (Junior Theatre Festival NZ).

Intimacy Coordination is about cultivating a safe and professional environment for the crafting of intimate content on screen and stage. This workshop will provide participants with valuable tools and language that will add to your kete & professional practice.

Bringing back our popular Te Pou Awe acting workshops for 2024, we are inviting whānau Māori of the industry to come along and have a play with some acting. Facilitated by Tainui Tukiwaho, covering the many facets of acting and what makes Māori Theatre.
